We focus on education and improving life in rural Peruvian communities severely affected and inhibited by daily poverty and insufficient avenues to create a better life on their own.

Our Focus

Our efforts at Project Compassion focus on three major areas as we enable those we work with to create a better life for themselves. As we work among them, we continually look for new ways that will touch their lives, change their future, and enable them to discover a sense of hope for a better life.

Education - We believe that improving education through the installation of computer labs opens doors of new opportunities for the children living in impoverished conditions. Our present computer labs provide evidence that computer technology will change a child's future.

Farm Technology - In rural communities, improving one aspect of life improves all of life. Our efforts to advance farm technology by introducing a walking tractor, enabling them to apply crop fertilizer, and by assisting them in the establishment of family guinea pig farms, will enable the domino effect to ripple down to the youngest child in the community.

Micro-Financing - When most of life consists of bartering and cash flow is nearly non-existent, micro loans enable them to attempt new ventures that would have remained outside their reach otherwise. Through small loans of a few hundred to less than $2000, they are now able to expand their farming efforts and do what they only dreamed of doing previously.

Direct Contact - Project Compassion works directly with a Peruvian non-profit, Wasiymi Wasiki, based in Lima, Peru. Because we know the organization and the founders personally, our work is researched by them in Peru and, once everything is in place, our funds are transferred to Wasiymi Wasiki to carry out our projects, which are also their projects. This personal relationship which we maintain enables you to be assured that your gifts go directly to our projects. Isaac Pucllas Tello, a sociologist from Lima, and the Chairmain of Wasiymi Wasiki, pictured to the left, is our project manager in Peru. For more information on Wasiymi Wasiki, click here.
